Bulacan State University (BulSU) students memorialize the 5th anniversary of the Maguindanao Massacre, yesterday November 26. As they still fight for the justice to the 58 victims particularly the 32 media workers.
The said event was held at the Heroes Park were the students involving wear black shirt to signify mourning for the victims. Until now there is the slow flow of the case that is haven’t cast about the justice for the victims.
Presiding by the different colleges and organizations of the university, the College of Arts and Letters (CAL), College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), College of Nursing (CON), College of Engineering (CoE), College of Industrial Technology (CIT), Partidong Demokratikong Mag-aaral (PDM), Journalism Society, Student Government (SG), National Union of the Students of the Philippines (NUSP), League of Filipino Students (LFS), College Editors Guild of the Philippines (CEGP), The Communique, Youth for Human Rights, Hiraya Kolektib, Pacesetter, BulSU Eco-Rangers, BulSU-Hagonoy campus, Gabriela Youth, and Student Christian Movement. They were uniting as one to lead and shout for justice. They tend also to remind their fellow students to be aware and open their minds regarding to this event.
They shout to end impunity for those 58 victims in that Maguindanao Massacre in 2009 for fast resolution of the case. Also to end the killings of journalists and the culture of impunity in the Philippines.
“Kung tayo ay makakalimot, maaari itong maulit.” said by Jeaneth Panti, editor-in-chief of Pacesetter. Students unite as well to fight that must never forget this kind of tragic incident particularly the future journalists.
At the same time, BulSUans offer a candle-lighting formed justice as a sign of hope for speed resolution of the case. And also the event gave an opportunity to give an advocacy to tell to other youth to know and fight for their rights.
